Questions about Kybella Treatment?
For those troubled or embarrassed by a double chin that won’t go away no matter how hard you try, Kybella® might be the ideal solution for you! Kybella treatments melt away that pesky excess fat, allowing you to bypass surgical procedures, like liposuction, and get on with your life!
What is Kybella?
Safe and effective, Kybella is an FDA approved nonsurgical injection that targets fat cells under the chin that create that low hanging, fleshy region known as the double chin.
How does Kybella work?
Kybella injections use a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, a naturally produced material that absorbs fat, to mimic our body’s natural fat-absorption process, destroying the fat cells under the chin. The bonus? Once the fat cells under the chin are destroyed, the chin is no longer able to store fat. Your double chin is gone for good!
How long does a Kybella treatment take?
Each treatment takes 15-20 minutes. The number of treatments a patient requires depends on the amount of fat under the chin. Dr. Patel will discuss the particulars of your case and your aesthetic goals with you at your consultation. Multiple treatments may be needed. It is safe to receive up to six Kybella treatments total, spaced at least one month apart.
How long does a Kybella treatment last?
It may sound too good to be true, but once you have completed your treatment plan of up to 6 treatments, the effects are long lasting. The injections prevent the fat cells from storing fat, so subsequent treatments should not be needed. Ever.
What’s the catch?
This noninvasive technique truly is as good as it sounds. But although Kybella is the first and only injectable to target this particular problem area, it is limited to this particular problem area as well. Currently, FDA has only approved the use of Kybella under the chin.
Does Kybella hurt?
This injectable technique causes minimal pain, but that, of course, depends on the comfort level of each patient. We may administer a numbing agent to ease any discomfort. It’s up to you.
